Houston

We're having a fabulous time in Houston! I haven't updated for awhile so prepare for a picture overload.

We drove from Rexburg, ID to Big Sandy, TX in two days.  That's 1,615 miles.  This is Amaya passed out in her portacrib after we arrived.

Why did we drive to Big Sandy you ask? To see my fantastic grandparents of course! We had a wonderful time.

Amaya reluctant to say good-bye.
It's hot in Texas but we have an awesome pool at our apartment complex that Amaya and I take advantage of frequently while Dallas sweats it out working in the hot sun.  Tomorrow morning we're going swimming as a family though!
Amaya and I visited the Houston Zoo on Thursday with some other APX wives and their kids.  Amaya got a kick out of the animals but slept through the best part, the carousel!
Can you tell she was just thrilled to be here?
equally exciting, Amaya's hair is now long enough to put in piggy tails.  Not the best picture of her but you get a good look at what Dallas calls "grasshopper antennas"
The after effect of pig tails--devil horns
Today we enjoyed Dallas' day off and played at the park.  Amaya's favorite thing in the world is riding on Dallas' shoulders.

We're having a great time in Texas, enjoying spending time as a family.  We found out this last week that Dallas will be deployed again this fall, so we're enjoying the summer while he's here.  He'll leave in September just a few weeks after our baby is born and be gone for about a year.  We're very grateful for the opportunity we will have to serve our country. We're so thankful for our testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the peace and comfort His Atonement brings us as we go through times of trial. We're also grateful for wonderful friends and family members who support us, love us, and help us.

We're Here!

Just arrived in Houston yesterday afternoon after a brief trip to Big Sandy, Texas.  I love it, the weather is so nice and our apartments are fantastic.  Our internet gets hooked up this weekend so I'll post some fun pictures! In the meantime, I'm procrastinating my homework in the clubhouse at San Cierra. :)

Viva Las Vegas!

Dallas and I just got back from Las Vegas and we had a blast! We didn't take a whole lot of pictures because photography wasn't allowed inside the shows and we were too lazy to take pictures outside the theaters.

The hotel we stayed at was a giant castle.
Monday night we went and saw "The Lion King". It was such a fun show and the costumes were so cool.

Holding Timon and Pumba dolls at the gift shop. Only $20 each!

Tuesday we went to a dinner show called "The Tournament of Kings" at our hotel.
We sat in this giant arena and watched the show, which was tons of fun.  We drank soda out of big jugs and our food was brought out on a big platter--a big cornish hen and vegetables.  They don't give you utensils so everyone eats with their hands while we watch a giant jousting match with horses and the like.  It was so cool!

Wednesday we walked the strip (Las Vegas is such a dirty place) and saw the sights.

You can see the Eiffel Tower in the background here.

Friday night we went and saw "PHANTOM!"
It was amazing. We splurged and got great seats right under the chandelier that the Phantom swings from.  It was so awesome!
Our sneaky Phantom photo under the chandelier.
Thursday we got massages at the spa at our hotel. Dallas is so funny, he'd never admit it but he loves to be pampered!

Although Las Vegas was tons of fun, I was very anxious to get home and see this silly girl:
Monday morning after a quick trip to Leavitt Women's Healthcare we will be leaving on our grand adventure to Houston!

It's a . . .

Pregnancy Tickers from WiddlyTinks.com

We're having another bouncing baby girl! We're so excited! So far she is healthy and everything looks great. It will be tons of fun to have two little girls so close in age and I won't even need to buy anything for the baby. :) I was totally surprised because I thought FOR SURE we were having a boy but Dallas says he knew all along.  Now that we know it's a girl I can't wait to meet her!
Oaklie Abrams (still no word on the middle name)

I've got to say, this is probably the coolest ultrasound I've ever had, because I could actually tell what was going on.  Above is her facial profile with her two little fists. Apparently she's going to be a little wiggle worm like Amaya because she wouldn't hold still! It took forever for the ultrasound tech to see everything!
