Summertime and the living is easy...

Just a few random photos of us enjoying the rest of our summer :)
Oaklie dressed herself. She has great fashion sense for a two year old! (How many patterns can you find on her outfit?)

Oaklie handcuffed herself with her nursery handout and then fell asleep.

Amaya took swim lessons in August! Aren't they so cute heading for their class?

Oaklie was pretty jealous the whole time. She was always sneaking closer and closer to the pool.

I heard on the news there would be a meteor shower that night, so Dallas and I roasted some marshmallows on the grill and checked out the view. I thought it was romantic, but he thought it was super lame. Gotta love him for going along with it!

More swimming

Oaklie and Me

Amaya loved her teacher, "Miss Kam". It was a great experience for her and she is so much more confident in the water now.

Enjoying some post-swim sno-cones. Their faces crack me up.

I went to wake Amaya up from her nap and I couldn't find her anywhere. I found her in the corner of the closet. What a kid.

We went swimming as a family and Oaklie got to finally enjoy the water at Rexburg Rapids!

Driving out to go camping

Getting ready to ride the RAZR.

Cute little cousins as Palisades

Alright, I feel kind of bad for posting this, but Amaya was all freaked out about peeing in the water.  I was not packing her back up to the campsite just so she could use a port-a-potty. She walked over and peed in the dirt. Disgusting, but funny.

Looks like I peed my pants, Oaklie just sat on my lap with her wet bum.

Cheese!

Oaklie is FREE! (not really--she's two)

Oaklie's 2nd birthday was August 20. I felt a lot of joy and just a teensy bit of sadness that my baby is not a baby anymore!  We just love our little two year old to pieces, she brings sunshine into our family!
Oaklie crawled into my bed at 7 am on her birthday, then proceeded to sleep until almost 10! She was getting her beauty rest for the big party.

I got brave and made Oaklie's cake (it's an ice cream cone.) I think I'm going to stick with Broulim's bakery from now on because it was pretty stressful. Am I the only one who gets nervous making birthday cakes? What if I ruin their cake and ruin their birthday!?!?

Me: "Oaklie, how old are you?"
Oaklie: "FREE!"
Me: "No, you're TWO."
Oaklie with a frowny face: "Two."

How do you say no to those eyes?
I was worried that Amaya would have a hard time and be jealous of Oaklie, but she did great! She woke up (way) before Oaklie and drew her a "happy birthday present" for her to see when she woke up.

Our birthday princess. Gotta love hand-me-downs!

Blowing out the candles.

I caught a picture of Oaklie's wipeout. Poor kid. Luckily dad was there to brush her off and help her finish blowing them out.

Are these two not just the cutest?

 Opening presents
Thanks to grandmas and grandpas, she brought home quite the stash.

Hauling home the loot. Thanks to everyone for helping us celebrate her special day!

Oaklie,
Baby girl we are just crazy about you! You have such a bubbly, fun personality and can put a smile on anyone's face. As you've gotten older, you've become even more loving and sweet, and we are so thankful we get to be your mom and dad! You try so hard to be obedient and we are so proud of you for your desire to try and learn new things. You are a wonderful sister to Amaya; always willing to share, to play with her, and let her have the pink bowl. Thank you for being such a peacemaker; you are a good friend to everyone you meet. We love you like crazy and are so glad we have many years ahead to watch you grow and become even more silly and beautiful!
Love,
Mom and Dad
